'The most terrible ever': Donald Trump rails against Time magazine's 'super bad' cover picture.
It is a positive story in a periodical that the president has frequently admired – with one exception. The magazine's cover photo, Trump declared, "may be the Worst of All Time".
Time magazine's praise to Donald Trump's part in mediating a truce for Gaza, leading its 10 November issue, was accompanied by a photograph of Trump taken from below while the sun shining from the back.
The effect, he says, is ""extremely poor".
"The publication wrote a quite favorable story about me, but the photo may be the most awful ever", the president posted on Truth Social.
“My hair was obscured, and then there was a shape over my head that seemed like a suspended diadem, but extremely small. Truly strange! I have never liked being photographed from below, but this is a extremely poor image, and it merits criticism. What are they doing, and why?”
Donald Trump has shown clear his wish to appear on Time’s cover and did so on four occasions in the previous year. This fixation has reached Trump’s golf clubs – in 2017, the publication requested to remove fabricated front pages exhibited in several of his venues.
The most recent cover image was shot by a photographer for a news agency at the presidential residence on October 5.
The shot's viewpoint was unflattering to his chin and neck area – a chance that California governor Newsom did not miss, with his communications team tweeting a version with the offending area blurred.
{The Israeli captives detained in Gaza have been freed under the opening part of Trump's ceasefire agreement, alongside a Palestinian prisoner release. The deal could be a signature achievement of the president's renewed tenure, and it may represent a strategic turning point for the region.
Meanwhile, a defence of Trump's image has come from an unexpected source: the communications chief at Russia’s ministry of foreign affairs came forward to criticise the "revealing" picture decision.
It's amazing: a photo says more about those who chose it than about the subject. Just unwell persons, people driven by hatred and hatred –perhaps even perverts – could have selected such an image", she shared on the messaging platform.
Considering the favorable images of Biden that the periodical used on the cover, even with his age-related challenges, the case is self-damaging for Time", she noted.
The answer to his queries – why did they choose this, and why? – might involve creatively capturing a impression of strength stated by an imaging expert, an Australian publication's photo editor.
The image itself is professionally taken," she notes. "They picked this image because they wanted trump to look impressive. Gazing upward creates an impression of their majesty and the president's visage actually looks thoughtful and almost slightly angelic. It’s not often you see pictures of him in such a serene moment – the photo appears gentle."
Trump’s hair appears to “disappear” because the rear illumination has overexposed that part of the image, producing a glowing aura, she explains. Even though the article's title pairs nicely with the president's look in the image, "it's impossible to satisfy the subject matter."
Few people appreciate being photographed from below, and while all of the conceptual elements of the image are highly effective, the aesthetics are not flattering."
The publication approached Time magazine for feedback.
