Audiences are thrilled for the chilling show It: Welcome to Derry, which is garnering praise and incorporating elements from other Stephen King works. Just one day after launch, the broadcaster declared that the second installment will arrive early, released fittingly for October 31st.

Starting on October 31 at midnight PT, episode two of It: Welcome to Derry will premiere on the streaming service, prior to its Sunday HBO premiere. Future chapters of the series run will continue to air on Sundays on both HBO and its streaming arm, leading up to the final episode on Sunday, December 14.
Series Overview
Taking place within the Derry mythology, It: Welcome to Derry borrows elements from the original story while enlarging the universe established by the It movie director in the recent movie adaptations. The first It movie focused on young characters confronting supernatural evils, making it appropriate that the series continues that tradition. However, the debut of the HBO series shows it intended to escalate the fear, delivering even more intense scares than Muschietti’s films and creating a harsh vibe for the upcoming episodes.
Premise and Ideas
Set in 1962, the series presents a new generation of grown-ups and kids inhabiting a seemingly idyllic town hiding a sinister core. This place follows a brutal, periodic loop—characterized by aggression, prejudice, and paranormal events, as a monstrous presence resurfaces once every three decades. While the series might appear like it strays too near to the films on the surface, what differentiates the digital program is its parallel storytelling—narrated via the perspectives of kids and grown-ups at the same time. The kids are highly exposed to It's terror, but grown-ups also face confronting their personal demons stemming from local discrimination and covert otherworldly powers.
Episode 2 debuts on the 31st of October at 12 a.m. Pacific Time.
