Barcelona Ready for First Fixture at Upgraded Camp Nou this Saturday
The club confirmed they will play at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou over the weekend. The club will host the Bilbao team in La Liga 30 months after they moved out to allow renovations to start.
“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Not all seats will be available but 45,401 spectators can be present as per the current authorization. Once fully finished, the Camp Nou is due to hold almost 105,000 spectators, up from the previous 99,000. The club said recent additions comprise a new players’ tunnel plus modern locker rooms.
Preparatory Events
The club conducted an open training session on the home pitch on 7 November. They mentioned they were hoping for permission from Uefa for their upcoming Champions League fixture against Eintracht Frankfurt on 9 December in the renovated venue. Their recent games have been held at the Olympic Stadium.
