Aircraft Carrying Pete Hegseth Forced to Land in UK Because of Crack in Windshield
A jet transporting Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was forced to make an unplanned landing in the UK on Wednesday after a crack was identified in the aircraft's cockpit window, as stated by an announcement which stated that all passengers were secure.
"The jet landed based on standard protocol and everyone onboard, including Secretary Hegseth, is secure," an official representative commented in a online announcement.
The secretary was coming back from a brief trip to the Belgian capital when the incident occurred.
This event is not the initial instance that a US military aircraft ferrying a senior official has encountered mechanical issues.
Earlier this year, a US Air Force plane ferrying Marco Rubio to the city in Germany was required to turn back to Washington DC after encountering a mechanical problem.
